Nutrigenetics establishes the physiological effects of genetic variants of a person in response to diet. We use this genetic information to personalize dietary recommendations and lifestyle to help patients achieve optimal health and prevent severe pathologies. GENETIC TESTS

Physiological response to food is a complex process in which hundreds of genes are involved. In addition, multiple diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and some cancers, among others, are correlated to inappropriate nutritional process. Our nutrigenetic studies reveal predisposition of a patient to develop metabolic and/or cardiovascular complications, before they emerge. These nutrigenetic studies also provide the necessary preventive measures to reduce the intensity or prevent the onset of these comorbidities.

Available genetic tests:

NOA

(Nutrigenetic and Overweight Analysis).

This study targets multiple genes, involved in the central regulation of energy balance and control of food intake, lipid metabolism and thermogenesis regulation, proinflammatory processes in adipose tissue, and the development of insulin resistance.

CMR

(Cardiometabolic Risk).

This study targets several genes associated with cardiovascular and metabolic risk, to assess the additional patient’s risk to develop cardiometabolic syndrome. This syndrome is also known as abdominal obesity syndrome, involving an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, heart disease or stroke.

COMPLEMENTARY STUDIES

 

Genetic risk assessment on intolerance to certain dietary components (gluten intolerance, lactose and fructose) and other diseases, such as osteoporosis, allows greater adaptation of nutritional habits and a better quality of life. These tests can be done independently or as a complement to our nutrigenetic studies NOA and CMR.

 

 




TAKING A SAMPLE

A simple and painless method

One of the main values of NUTRI studies is the ease of sampling. We only need a simple sample of buccal mucosa (saliva) from the patient. It is a quick, painless and noninvasive method, well adapted to patient’s comfort. The only precaution is that the patient’s mouth is clean. These samples can also be easily shipped from all over the world.
